Chisinau, 07 February /MOLDPRES/ – A book titled: O calatorie in lumea de odinioara. Amintirile unui polonez din Basarabia (A trip to the world of the past. The memories of a Polish from Bessarabia) by Tadeusz Gaydamowicz, published by the Embassy of Poland in Chisinau, was presented at the National Library of Moldova (BNM) today.

The Ambassador of Poland to Chisinau, Bartlomiej Zdaniuk, has mentioned that the volume was published in 2018 related to the Centennial of regaining the Independence of Poland in 1918.

"In his texts, Tadeusz Gaydamowicz, now living in Krakow, 96, tells how the Poles arrived here on these Basarabian lands in the Tsarist period, then describes the life of the Poles in the interwar period. These texts are published in Polish and Romanian. The book contains some photos from the author's personal archive. Throughout these pictures, we can somehow imagine how the Poles lived in Bessarabia, and what their way of life was," said Bartlomiej Zdaniuk.
