Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan wine exports to the Chinese market increased by 9% in 2018 compared to 2017. Thus, China is in the top 5 of the largest Moldovan wine importers in the world.

According to the data of the National Vine and Wine Office (ONVV), in order to maintain an ascending trend of exports on the Chinese market in 2019, Moldovan Wine will be present at several exhibitions and competitions held in China. Wine tours for Chinese journalists will also be organized.

At the same time, ONVV has recently organized a presentation of Moldovan Wine for representatives of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China. According to ONVV Director Gheorghe Arpentin, China is a strategic market for the Republic of Moldova, with great potential to absorb impressive volumes of Moldovan wines.

"In recent years, wine has become increasingly appreciated by consumers in the Land of the Great Wall, especially young people, so we will invest more and more in educational activities. Since last year we have been organizing the Moldova Wine School in several cities in China, and we are now in the process of developing a training center for Chinese consumers, "Arpentin said.

The most popular types of wine on the Chinese market are red and rose, sparkling wines and liqueur, as well as cognac.
