The ANRCETI press service said that the overall sales on this market had amounted to 162.1 million lei and the number of subscribers to the concerned services stood at 329,700.

The increase in the total number of subscribers was prompted by the growth of the number of subscribers connected to IPTV networks, ANRCETI specialists said. Thus, the number of those who connected themselves to these services increased by 14.1 per cent, amounting to 152,000, while the number of those choosing cable networks decreased by 7.7 per cent and amounted to 170,000. As a result of this evolution, the rate of penetration of the TV services against payment, per 100 inhabitants, grew by 0.2 percentage points and totaled 9.3 per cent.

The increase in revenues coming from the sale of TV services against payment was prompted by the growth of sales made by the providers operating the IPTV networks, which is a system through which the television services are provided via Internet.
