Moldova – USA Business Forum starts in Chisinau

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/ – There has started the Business Forum Moldova – USA in Chisinau today. The event, which will take place two days, is attended by 16 American companies, which have been informed about the investment opportunities of Moldova.
On the Forum day one, the relevant authorities presented the most important sectors where can invest American entrepreneurs. According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI), 16 companies from the USA participating in the event are interested in establishing partnerships with Moldovan companies within: infrastructure, industry, energy, ICT, tourism, agribusiness.
At the Forum opening, the Minister of MEI, Chiril Gaburici, has said that both American business community and Moldovan entrepreneurs will succeed in establishing new partnerships, exchanging experience and inspiration from stories of success.
"Moldova – USA Forum is an excellent platform for effective bilateral cooperation. We are ready to look carefully at any proposal and investment project from the American business community. The Moldovan government will provide all necessary support, openness and assistance," said Chiril Gaburici.
US Ambassador to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan has said he wants US entrepreneurs to play a bigger role in the Moldovan economy, both through investment, creating jobs and providing latest generation of equipment, which can help Moldovan companies become more efficient and competitive.
On 12 April, on the event day two, it will take place B2B session, where local companies are able to establish direct contacts with the USA partners.
In Moldova, there are 398 enterprises with U.S. capital, amounting about MDL 517 million of investments in social capital. Based on the value of invested capital, the USA ranks on the 7th position among Moldova’s partner countries.
