Chisinau authorities purchase new equipment for collecting leaves, mowing grass

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau authorities have purchased 30 street vacuum cleaners that will be used to collect leaves around waiting stations, sidewalks and alleys. At the same time, 50 machines for cutting grass were also purchased.

The new equipment which cost 270,000 lei had been presented in Chisinau.

The head of the housing and planning department, Ion Burdiumov, said that they are multifunctional and can be used on the sidewalks, in the waiting stations and in the green areas between neighborhoods.

For his part, acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said that the new acquisition means higher quality services with modern equipment and optimization of the work of sanitation workers. Codreanu said that the municipality is expected to acquire two more technical batches during this year.

According to the city hall, 14 million lei are provided for 2019 for the purchase of street sanitation equipment, including 10 tractors with blades and brush, five vans and five mini-loaders.
