500 million lei to be invested in modernisation of heating system in Chisinau

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/- Termoelectrica company will invest 500 million lei in the modernization of heating system in the capital this summer.

The company’s investment plan for 2019 involves the modernization of over 50 thermal pipe sections, change of equipment from several pumping stations and replacement of thermal insulation over several sections.

According to the company, the planned works will help improve the efficiency of the production facilities and the modernization of the thermal energy supply infrastructure. At the same time, the works will enable the company to increase the output of production facilities and to strengthen the country's energy security by increasing local electricity production and reducing dependence on import.

Director-general of Termoelectrica company Veaceslav Eni said that in order not to affect residents of the areas where works will be carried out, the company has identified alternative hot water supply solutions. Thus, disconnections will only be made in exceptional cases and for short periods of time, Eni said.

The company provides over 5,678 buildings with thermal energy, of which about 594 budget institutions, about 814 economic agents, 209,000 apartments, about 2,955 dwelling houses in Chisinau.
