Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - Customs officers and border policemen will implement more joint actions to ease the border traffic on the summer period, when, according to data from previous years, the traffic values increase by up to 20 per cent.

The joint action plan was signed by the director of the Customs Service, Vitalie Vrabie and Head of the Border Police Fredolin Lecari. Under the document, on the period 15 June – 31 August, decision-makers will simplify the control procedures and will plan the staff management at the most demanded crossing points.

Among the actions due to be undertaken, there are the increase in the number of inspectors and checking equipments, as well as the involvement of the posts’ leadership in the carrying out of the customs and, respectively, border control. At the same time, anti-fraud officers will be mobilized too, who will take over the documentation of the infringements recorded, without distracting the officers from the control line.

Also, in case of an enhanced traffic, all control lanes will be used, no matter the direction of crossing, including the ones meant for the diplomatic corps.

Statistics data shows that about 6,900,000 crossings of people were registered in the summer of 2018, up by seven per cent against the same period of 2017.
