Moldovan government’s work program made public

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/- The activity program of the Moldovan government led by Prime Minister Maia Sandu was made public. It was placed on the official website of the Cabinet.

The document stipulates that the new government will resume the European integration path of the Republic of Moldova and will work for the real implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. At the same time, the government was committed to identify the solutions to support social initiatives for indexing pensions so that long-term average pension will reach 42% of the average wage per economy.

The priorities of the new cabinet include the release of the state from captivity and strengthening the independence of the institutions, removing the country from isolation and urgent re-launching the economy, creating conditions for real welfare and increasing the quality of life.

"Our vision is to lay the foundations of an economy that exists not only due remittances, taxes and money coming from foreign partners, but one based on domestic production and labor productivity growth. An economy that generates sustainable and inclusive growth, that provides well-paid jobs for people in the country and for those who have left but want to come back," the government's work program reads.

The new government is committed to restore relations with the IMF, to provide disbursement of the last two instalments and start negotiations on the next IMF program. The cabinet also assured it will meet the terms of the Macro-financial Assistance Agreement and will ensure the disbursement of 100 million euros from the European Union, as well as budget support of 40 million euros.

In foreign policy, the government will deepen cooperation with the EU, deepen partnership with Romania and Ukraine, strengthen partnership with the USA and promote a constant, predictable and realistic institutional dialogue with the Russian Federation.

Regarding the dialogue for state reunification, the government led by Maia Sandu says it will remove internal factors fueling the conflict and promote the idea of creating a fund to ensure reunification of state with the contribution and international monitoring of the activities.

The program also sees that the new government will initiate road infrastructure projects, invest in building water supply and sewerage networks, revise the minimum living basket, increase the national agriculture development fund and take concrete measures to improve business environment.

The cabinet headed by Prime Minister Maia Sandu was sworn in on 8 June.
