Hospital directors to be appointed on competition basis

Chisinau, 9 August /MOLDPRES/- The regulation on appointment of heads of public medical-sanitary institutions has been amended and directors will be appointed on a competition basis and will not be able to hold more than two terms. Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Ala Nemerenco made the statement.

The new amendments to the regulation will increase the level of integrity and professionalism of the IMSP managers. “To access the positions the candidates will have to fill in a declaration of integrity, a statement about relationship in the institution. Only two mandates in one and the same institution will be allowed, those who have led the institution for more than nine years can no longer participate in the contest for the same position. 90 days before the contract expires, the ministry announces a contest without waiting for any notifications, there is no longer a single person contest ”, Nemerenco said.

The official said that in the next period the supplement for night work offered to the staff employed in the public medical-sanitary institutions falling within the compulsory health care insurance system will be increased.

Also, the minister noted that the one-off allowances for work in rural areas will be increased from 45 thousand lei for doctors and pharmacists to 120 thousand lei and from 36 thousand lei for medical and pharmaceutical staff up to 96 thousand lei.
