Market for grapes opened in Chisinau

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/- A fair of grapes was opened in the capital. The decision was taken to allow the economic agents to sell their goods, and citizens - to buy grapes at the producer price.

The fair will be open until 15 October. Chisinau residents will be able to buy wood and stainless steel containers for wine storage. In the first days after opening, the fair was attended by 22 grape producers both economic agents and private people.

This year, an overall grape production of about 700 thousand tons is forecast in the Republic of Moldova. In the context of the rich harvest recorded last year, several producers had in spring large reserves of grapes in fridges and were likely to incur huge financial losses. In these circumstances, the fair was organized in the capital, thus producers managed to sell a large part of grape reserves.
