Electric, electronic waste collection campaign to be held in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Maia Sandu participated on 15 September in launching the campaign for the collection of electrical and electronic waste. The event was organized in Chisinau by Hai Moldova group within IarmarEco, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The Prime Minister thanked the organizers and stressed the importance of environmental problems in Moldova and in the world. "This campaign is very good, I hope that as many people as possible hear and realize how important it is to collect, recycle and process this waste" Sandu said.

The premier asked all public institutions to set up boxes for collecting electrical and electronic waste, and finally bring the waste to Hai Moldova team.

The official said that the government will make every effort to improve significantly the area. The government will implement concrete projects, awareness campaigns and will continue to support ecological initiatives in the country.

The electric and electronic waste collection campaign will be held for one month. Dozens of schools and public institutions from different districts of the country will collect batteries, telephones, batteries, cables, computers and other such waste. On October 15, at the end of the campaign, the collected waste will be transported to Romania for processing.
