Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - About 200 participants – representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Moldova, of national and international institutions and organizations, local public authorities, representatives of native enterprises and from abroad, of business associations, business infrastructures, associative sector, etc. on 19 September participated in a business forum held in the northern Edinet city. This was the first day of the event, which is to end in Balti, within the Days of the North Development Region, today.

The business forum’s organizers were set to provide a platform for the promotion of the economic potential and attracting investments to northern Moldova and, at the same time, to facilitate communication and development of the relations between business people both of Moldova and from abroad, public and diplomatic environments, as well as other organizations/institutions providing support to business.

The agenda of the first day of the forum included the presentation of the investment profile of the North Development Region, of benefits and opportunities of developing business, promoting SMART and IT technologies, in order to optimize the business, as well as promote cooperation between public and public environments through the involvement of local entrepreneurs in the local economic development of the Edinet municipality. Subsequently, the participants were able to visit the production spaces of the residents of the Edinet Industrial Park.

„In the ten years of work, the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) has provided assistance within numerous development projects in north Moldova districts. Edinet is among the most active districts. Here, we have managed to efficiently cooperate both with the district authorities and the municipal ones. Together, we restored those seven km of road crossing the Edinet city; we constructed the administrative building of the Edinet Industrial Park, which we also connected to the needed utilities and at present, we renovate the Edinet-based health centre, through energy optimization,” the acting director of ADR Nord, Constantin Bandiu, said.

„We thank our development partners from Romania, Latvia, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, as well as other European states for the support provided within the activities for developing Moldova’s regions. We rely on this strategic partnership in the regional development sector, through the carrying out of joint projects at the level of local public administrations, non-governmental organizations and entrepreneurs,” a head of department at the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM), Igor Malai, said.

The official specified that the ministry he represents, through its activities, contributed to the promotion of a balanced social and economic development of the regions and the national funds are limited, and therefore it is necessary to increase the foreign direct investments. “We are interested in our citizens to have well-paid jobs and events such as this business forum represents a good occasion to establish new contacts allowing us to develop,” Igor Malai also said.

According to ADR Nord, the North Development Region is characterized by a friendly and attractive investment climate with developed business infrastructure, which includes: free economic zones, industrial parks, business incubators, business HUBs, which provide all needed infrastructure for entrepreneurial activities. ”All these are just to be fully turned to good account and bring profit.”

The two-day business forum from Edinet and Balti ends the agenda of the fifth issue of the Days of the North Development Region, held on 19-20 September. The event is organized by ADR Nord, under the aegis of MADRM, in cooperation with the Edinet mayoralty, NGO People in Need Moldova, Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Soroca district council, Sangerei district council, Chiscareni village mayoralty, public association, Centre of Integrated Community Development and Pro Regional Cooperation public association, according to MOLDPRES, which is the event’s media partner.
