Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - Another 54 investment projects will benefit from financial support worth 13.54 million lei through the PARE 1+1 Programme for the Attraction of Remittances into the Economy, dedicated to migrant workers and their first-degree relatives. The contracts on non-refundable financing were signed in Chisinau today.

According to estimations by the Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM), following the implementation of the 54 investment projects, about 200 jobs will be created and maintained and the cumulative investments into the national economy will amount to 32.39 million lei.

The beneficiary enterprises are placed in 21 districts of Moldova. As much as 14.8 per cent of them work in the Chisinau and Balti cities and 85.2 per cent – in rural settlements.

ODIMM data shows that those 54 beneficiaries will invest in their businesses the remittances coming from 16 states: Belgium, Denmark, Russia, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Romania, USA, Turkey and Ukraine.

ODIMM director general Iulia Costin today said that PARE 1+1 was one of the most demanded and long-lasting programmes. To receive money on behalf of the state, beneficiaries will have to prove an investment worth up to 250,000 lei – money received as remittances from abroad. “You have six months at your disposal to fulfill the investment. If you manage to do this in three days and bring us confirmative documents, then we quickly transfer the grant you should receive. Yet, first of all, it is your duty, so that the 250,000 lei you said that you have earned and attracted from abroad as remittances must be found in the account of the enterprise set up. You should make all procurements from there, on behalf of the company. Subsequently, bring the needed documents to ODIMM and then we will quite quickly honour the obligation, because the money for your contracts are already at ODIMM,” Iulia Costin said.

The PARE 1+1 programme has been implemented by ODIMM since 2010 and is aimed at mobilizing human and financial resources of Moldovans working abroad in the sustainable economic development of Moldova. The programme is financed from the state budget and supplemented from European Union funds. The programme will be extended till 2021.
