Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ – The deputy director of the National Centre of Pre – Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance (CNAMUP) has been detained in the ambulance file, after on the morning of Friday, 11 October, the anticorruption officers and prosecutors carried out several searches on it.

Specifically, the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) and the anticorruption prosecutors are investigating how there were organised tenders for ambulance procurement, as well as the alleged favouring of some economic agents. According to the case materials, the decision – makers within CNAMUP would have given priority to an economic agent, even if it had not been eligible for the aforementioned auction, and after signing the contract it would not have fully fulfilled the liabilities.

The CNA has announced that investigators are examining the involvement of the current director of CNAMUP and one of his vices in returning to the winning economic agent an amount of over MDL 02 mln. This amount of money would have been penalties, applied to the company for multiple irregularities, admitted in the process of executing the contract, but it was not left in the accounts because, as a result, it would have been returned. According to investigators, this amount is the damage caused to the state after the purchase of ambulances.

The detention took place after in recent days, public persons and representatives of economic agents were heard in a case, started on the fact of the abuse of service, committed by decision makers from CNAMUP. Those concerned were cited to provide explanations regarding the alleged illegality, admitted in the framework of the public procurement organisation regarding the purchase of 69 ambulances.
