Moldovan cabinet approves new models of identity acts

Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved new models for the identity papers from the national passports system. The information on blood group will be excluded from the new acts. At the same time, changes will be made in terms of the holder’s “residence.”

Among the acts concerned, there is the identity card of Moldova’s citizen, electronic identity card, diplomatic passport, business passport, passport of Moldova’s citizen, permanent stay permit, temporary stay permit for foreign citizens.

At the cabinet meeting, Interior Minister Andrei Nastase said that the new identity papers would be put into circulation as the stock of old cards are exhausted, but not later than 1 April 2020.

According to the document approved by the government, all types of identity acts from the national passports system in circulation will remain valid till the expiration of their term, if situations do not appear in which they become invalid.
