Old – style Orthodox Christians celebrate holiday

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ – The old – style Orthodox Christians celebrate Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel on Thursday, 21 November. Popular tradition says that the two saints bring the last warm days of the year. Today, the believers go to the church and light a candle that will be the "light of old" in the world of the future.
This is the last big holiday before the Birth of the Lord, which begins on 28 November.
On this day, over 100 thousand Moldovans mark their namesake. Also, in more than 200 localities, it is celebrated the feast.
