Moldova interested in increasing exports of local products on Belarusian market

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ – Within the works of the EBRD Investment Forum, Prime Minister, Ion Chicu, met with the Prime Minister of Belarus, Serghei Rumas.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the parties appreciated the friendly bilateral relations and confirmed the mutual openness to boost the commercial – economic potential of Moldova and Belarus, as recently, there is a decrease of Moldovan products exported to the Belarusian market. In 2018, the value of exports amounted to over $87 million, and, in total, the commercial volume exceeded $215 million.
Similarly, PMs approached the prospects of cooperation in several projects of national importance, such as: initiative of road construction in Moldova by the Belarussian companies, urgency of liberalising the transports on a bilateral basis, but also conclusion of long – term contracts for selling of Moldovan agricultural products on the Belarusian market.
Alo, PM Ion Chicu invited his Belarusian counterpart, Serghei Rumas, to pay a visit to Moldova in upcoming period.
