PM says cabinet to do its utmost to advance in Moldova's European integration

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Moldova Sándor Szabó. The officials expressed mutual openness for the development of the bilateral relations.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the PM highly appreciated Hungary’s support for Moldova’s European integration and gave assurances that the cabinet was fully focused on the implementation of the Association Agreement with EU. The prime minister reiterated the government’s commitment to further reform the justice, in line with the recommendations of the Venice Commission.
The PM highlighted the efficiency of the Hungarian experience provided to Moldova to improve the fiscal sector, which led to the diminution of the fiscal burden on the business. At the same time, he welcomed the continuation of these practices also in other fields, such as public money, agriculture and economy, as well as the pressing ahead with the Twinning project.
Ambassador Sándor Szabó reiterated the Hungary was willing to provide Moldova with the needed support and praised the work of the cabinet led by Ion Chicu. He confirmed the intention of Hungarian companies to make big investments in Moldova. In this respect, the prime minister expressed openness for the continuation of the dialogue on this dimension.
The sides stressed the importance to strengthen the discussions between the Eastern Partnership countries and the Visegrad Group member states. The officials agreed on continuing the bilateral dialogue on the platform of the Moldovan-Hungarian inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation, the next meeting of which is to be held in Chisinau.
Hungary has carried out over 40 projects for the promotion and deepening of the economic and political cooperation in Moldova.
