Superior Council of Prosecutors selects candidate for position of General Prosecutor in Moldova

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ – Alexandr Stoianoglo was appointed by the Superior Council of Prosecutors /CSP/ for the position of General Prosecutor of Moldova. His candidacy will be sent to President for appointment. The announcement was made by the head of CSP, Angela Motuzoc.

According to quoted source, Alexandr Stoianoglo obtained 74.22 points, the highest score, from the CSP members, after the interview – testing. About 67.45 points accumulated Vladislav Gribincea. The other two candidates, Veaceslav Soltan and Oleg Crasmaru, accumulated less than 70 points.

Alexandr Stoianoglo mentioned to be ready to take over the leadership of General Prosecutor's Office (PG) and having no political affiliation. "I want to change things in PG, it has to be functional and without corruption," said Stoianoglo.

Alexandr Stoianoglo has held over the years several functions, including the one of prosecutor of Gagauzia and deputy of General Prosecutor. For 05 years he was as MP, vice – speaker and chairman of the Commission of national security, defence and public order.

The commission established by the Ministry of Justice (MJ) selected 04 candidates for position of General Prosecutor: Oleg Crasmaru, Vladislav Gribincea, Veaceslav Soltan and Alexandr Stoianoglo. This list reached the CSP only on 18 November, being sent by the new minister Fadei Nagacevschi, after ex – minister Olesea Stamati canceled the results of contest.

According to the new changes made in legislation, CSP selects a candidacy from the proposed ones, which it submits for approval to President.
