Price of medical insurance to remain unchanged in Moldova in 2020

Chisinau, 06 December /MOLDPRES/ – The price of the compulsory medical insurance (AOAM) in the fixed amount for 2020 will remain at the level of 2019  – MDL 4,056. MPs voted on Thursday, 05 December, at first reading, the draft law on compulsory healthcare insurance funds for 2020.

According to project, similarly in 2020, it will be maintained reductions in purchase of medical insurance for several categories of individuals and legal persons. Also, as in 2019, the amount of compulsory healthcare insurance will remain at the level of 09 per cent, out of which 4.5 per cent paid by employee and 4.5 per cent paid by employer.

According to draft law of the funds of AOAM, their revenues and expenses were established in the amount of MDL 8,383.4 mln, with an increase of revenues of 14.4 per cent and of expenses by 11.4 per cent.

The income will constitute about 63.5 per cent of the total revenues of the AOAM funds. The transfers from the state budget (BS) for insuring the categories of persons insured by Government are expected at the level of 34 per cent.

The new measures in the funding subprojects are increasing the salaries of medical workers on average by 10 per cent, including increases already made for night shift, additional funding for treatment of oncological patients and expanding the list of compensated medicines.
