Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - The examination for the candidates for the office of judge or prosecutor will be organized by the National Justice Institute and will be taken before the commission for the graduation exams. The parliament approved a draft law to this effect in two readings today.

So far, the concerned examination has been led concomitantly with the one on finishing the courses of initial training and could be taken once a year. According to the draft’s authors, this fact creates unjustified obstacles to the candidates to accede to the office of judge or prosecutor on the basis of the length of service.

The MPs also approved an amendment to the legislation on the conditions due to be met by the candidates for the office of chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) of Gagauzia. Thus, they are to have an uninterrupted professional experience in the law sector of ten years, of which five years in the office of prosecutor or judge.

At present, the law sees that the person running for the office of chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of UTA Gagauzia should have an uninterrupted professional experience in the law field in the last 10 years.
