CSM admitted notification of former interim prosecutor general on arrest of judge

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/- With seven votes in favor and one against, the Superior Council of Magistracy on Tuesday admitted the notification of former Interim Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu on the release from office and the agreement on arrest of judge Oleg Sternioală. The CSM members convened in a meeting after several weeks in a row did not have a quorum.

Also at today's meeting, the CSM members accepted the resignation of judge of the Chisinau Court of Appeal Xenofon Ulianovschi.

37 issues are included in the agenda of today's CSM meeting. Thus, projects related to the transfer of some judges will be examined and the internal audit report of the Court Administration Agency will be heard. The CSM agenda also includes the petition of the Justice Ministry on approval of the draft law amending certain laws (Civil Code, Family Code and Law on civil status documents).

On 27 September over 200 magistrates convened in the General Assembly of Judges and decided to revoke the CSM panel. Then, 164 out of 202 magistrates voted for the dismissal of interim head of the CSM Dorel Musteață. Victor Micu was dismissed by 118 votes, Anatolie Galben - 162 votes, Luiza Gafton, Petru Moraru and Nina Cernat - 167 votes and alternate member Anatolie Pahapol was dismissed by 155 votes.
