Italian investor set to extend business in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a meeting with Italian investor Carlo Arturo Garuzzo, specialized in the production of renewable energy. Attending the meeting was Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Valeria Biagiotti.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, in the beginning of the meeting, the PM said that the attraction of investments in the country’s modernization and the creation of jobs represented a priority for the cabinet. Chicu gave assurances that the investors would be backed at all stages of creation and management of the business.
The Italian ambassador introduced Carlo Arturo Garuzzo as a relevant Italian investor, noting that the Embassy of Italy would support him in all projects initiated in Moldova.
Carlo Arturo Garuzzo presented his company, specialized in the construction and management of parks of solar panels, as a group with branches in Italy, the United Kingdom and Turkey and recently in Moldova as well. In 2018, the company set into operation the biggest park of solar panels in Moldova and presently it is one of the biggest producers of renewable energy. The investor described Moldova as a country fit for the production of solar energy and informed the prime minister about his intention to considerably extend the business in the region. The investor also highlighted the intention to educate needed specialists in engineering on the platform of the Moldovan Technical University.
The PM thanked the Italian investor for the courage to invest in Moldova, despite the knowledge about current dysfunctions, and assured him of full support.
„We will discuss with the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry and other competent public authorities, in order to remove the obstacles to the edification and development of your investment initiatives,” the prime minister said.
