Moldovan composer, violin player, conductor to receive title of honorary citizen of Bucharest

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - Composer Eugen Doga and violin player, conductor Nicolae Botgros will receive the title of honorary citizen of the Bucharest city. The subject is to be considered at a meeting of the general council of the Bucharest municipality, due next week, according to the AGERPRES news agency.  

According to the quoted source, the title will be awarded to the aforementioned two personalities of Moldova, at a proposal by the mayor of Bucharest, Gabriela Firea. Eugen Doga and Nicolae Botgros will receive the distinction along with other personalities of the medical, cultural and military fields from Romania. The two art people are honorary citizens of Chisinau.

Eugen Doga is 82 years old and is author of valuable works in the genres of light, film and theatre music, including the well-known waltz, My Sweet and Tender Beast, nominated by the UNESCO as the fourth musical masterpiece of the 20th century.  

The artistic director and the first conductor of the Lautarii (The Fiddlers) National Folk Music Orchestra, master Nicolae Botgros is 66 years old and during his career, he brought the fame of the folk music to tens of European countries, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, as well as all the states of the former Soviet Union.
