National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation new jubilee, commemorative coins

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) has put into circulation five jubilee and commemorative coins as payment means and on numismatic purposes.
More exactly, starting from today, the series, Alley of Classics from the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden of the Chisinau municipality, is completed with two commemorative coins dedicated to the 200th birthday anniversary of Alecu Russo, one with a nominal value of 100 lei, made of gold, and another one with the nominal value of 50 lei, made of silver.
Another coin is Ghiocelul bogat (The Spring Snowflake) from the series, The Red Book of Moldova. It is made of silver, has a nominal value of 50 lei and there are a number of 350 of such coins.
At the same time, a new series of coins titled, Poveștile copilăriei (The Tales of Childhood) has been inaugurated, due to be open with commemorative coins made of silvered tombac with a nominal value of 20 lei, Făt Frumos și Ileana Cosânzeana (Prince Charming and Princess Charming) and Capra cu trei iezi (The Goat and Her Three Kids).
The jubilee and commemorative coins, packed in capsules of transparent methacrylate and boxes for presentation, are accompanied by authenticity certificates edited in the Romanian and English languages, signed by the governor of the National Bank of Moldova.
The jubilee and commemorative coins, issued by the National Bank, are sold through the banks licenced in Moldova, which will be able to independently establish the coins’ selling price, without them to exceed by three per cent the price announced by BNM.
