Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/- The decree on appointment of Victor Țvircun as Moldovan Ambassador to State of Qatar was published in the Official Journal of Moldova today. This decree comes into force upon publication.

Victor Ţvircun was born on 18 October 1955, in Chisinau. He graduated from the Faculty of History and Social Sciences of the State University of Moldova. Over the years he has worked in several positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including deputy head of the Europe and North America Directorate (1993-1995), Advisor to the Moldovan Embassy in Turkey (1995-1998), and in charge of business of the Moldovan Embassy in Hungary (1999-2001). In 2001 he was appointed as Moldovan Ambassador to Turkey and as Ambassador to Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Lebanon.

In 2005, Victor Ţvircun was appointed as Minister of Education, Youth and Sport. He was released from the position of minister on March 31, 2008, with the formation of a new government led by Zinaida Greceanii.
