Moldovan PM convenes meeting of leadership of ministry of internal affairs

Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Ion Chicu, has convened a meeting, on Tuesday, at 07:00, with participation of deputy PM Serghei Puscuta, Minister of Internal Affairs, Pavel Voicu, and a group of advisers to examine cases of exaggerated application of attributions by some subdivisions of the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP), within controls of economic agents, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
At the meeting beginning, PM has mentioned that all police subdivisions must work keeping a perfect balance in respecting the interests of state and eliminating pressure on business environment.
Ion Chicu has ordered the creation of a working group headed by deputy PM Puscuta, Minister of Finance. The group will have the task of evaluating the national legal framework governing the competences and powers of police and, by 15 February, to come up with proposals for reorganisation in order to liquidate the policy responsible for controlling the economic agents.
The objective of the Working Group is to determine the implementation of new procedures starting with 01 July 2020. The chief of Executive requested the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for a rigorous monitoring of the activity of the IGP subdivisions and an effective public information on the principles currently being conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
