Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu  summoned a meeting on Saturday to examine the progress of the implementation of the e-government project. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Serghei Pușcuța, the management of the Public Services Agency and that of the Electronic Government Agency, responsible for the State Chancellery and the Prime Minister's Office, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The prime minister mentioned at the beginning of the meeting: “The digitalization and the massive implementation of the Information technologies is a priority of the Government. I assure you of the increased attention to the respective field. Everything you do is important and I want to be connected to everything you do. ”

The director of the Electronic Government Agency (AGE), Iurie Turcan made a presentation of the project, mentioning the opportunities offered and the problems existing in the implementation process. The project's mission is to increase the efficiency of the public services, their quality and accessibility, as well as to increase the satisfaction of the citizens from the interaction with the state. “The project intends to examine the services head-to-tail, so that the citizen can feel the changes. We aim to increase citizen's satisfaction ”, declared Turcan.

The project has a budget of 22.43 million dollars and is supported by the World Bank, the de facto implementation being started on June 25, 2018 and the deadline scheduled for June 30, 2023. The AGE management emphasized the need for the full involvement of public authorities and made reference to the existence of cases of insufficient interest from many authorities both in relation to the process of signing the agreements between AGE and authorities, as well as to the re-engineering of public services.

Ion Chicu confirmed the intention to promote the technology and digitization of public services and asked the leaders of the beneficiary authorities of the project for full involvement and the maximum acceleration possible. "The rationalization of public services is urgently needed, which often results in the doubling of costs and time consumption both for the provider institution and for the consumers of services, citizens of the country. Here I am referring to the simplification of access to public services and to the citizens of the diaspora ”, declared the prime minister.
