Moldovan PM chairs meeting of Single Command Centre for management of emergency state

Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today summoned a meeting of the Single Command Centre for the management of the state of emergency. The heads of the authorities involved in the management of the epidemiological situation presented reports on the actions undertaken and the results, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Interior Minister Pavel Voicu informed about the mobilization of 9,064 employees of the Interior Ministry’s (MAI) structures. Policemen, carabineers and rescuers were involved in the monitoring of the quarantine regime, check people under supervision, monitor public transport stations and ensure the public order. As many as 5,986 people in self-isolation at home were verified.    

The Border Police informed that 1,579 people had entered Moldova in the last 24 hours, of whom 227 ones – through the Chisinau International Airport. All people who came to Moldova filled in the epidemiological cards. All churches from Moldova were verified; religious services were officiated in three churches and the police compiled contravention processes.    

Three settlements are in quarantine regime: Soroca city, Stefan Voda town and the Carahasani village (Stefan Voda district). The Balceana village (Hancesti district) today was taken out of the quarantine regime. National Army servicemen are involved in maintaining the quarantine regime, patrolling of public places and organization of processes at the COVID-19 Centre.   

Health, Labour and Social protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu informed about the investigation of 510 samples (of which 239 at the National Public Health Agency), as a result of which 91 cases of infection with COVID-19 were confirmed. Three cases are of import and 88 with local transmission. Most confirmed cases were registered in Chisinau – 35, Stefan Voda – 10, Soroca – 10, Glodeni – 6, Hancesti – 6. A patient brought to the medical institution in serious condition died at 15:00.   

The participants in the meeting discussed the subject on buying tests for COVID-19 and other needed equipment and consumables. Presently, the medical institutions involved in the treatment of COVID-19 patients have all necessary equipment and consumables.

The PM asked the heads of the structures to undertake all measures to protect the first-line employees, to train and equip them with everything needed.
