More Moldovan employees infected with COVID-19 to benefit from one-off allowances

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - The government will allocate over 6.5 million lei from the intervention fund to the Interior Ministry for providing one-off allowances to employees infected with COVID-19 during the fulfillment of the job duties, as well as to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry and local public administration authorities for the providing of one-off allowances to the medical system employees infected with COVID-19.    

Under the decision approved by the cabinet today, according to applications, the money will be directed to the Chisinau and Balti municipal councils, districts councils of Cahul, Causeni, Donduseni, Edinet, Falesti, Floresti, Glodeni, Orhei, Rezina, Rascani, Sangerei, Soroca, Stefan Voda and Telenesti.    

The aforementioned public authorities, as beneficiaries of the financial means earmarked, will process, in the established way, the needed documents for financing the concerned expenses through the institutions where the concerned people work.

According to the Instruction No 14 of Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations, ‘’a one-off allowance worth 16,000 lei is established: for the employees infected with COVID-19 from the National Public Health Agency, medical institutions, including the detached staff, subordinated to the Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry, National Administration of Penitentiaries, hospital public medical and sanitary institutions, of pre-hospital emergency medical assistance, of primary medical assistance.’’ At the same time, ‘’also the employees of other authorities/budgetary institutions and public medical and sanitary institutions, who were infected with COVID-19 while fulfilling their job duties, will benefit from this allowance.’’
