Presidential elections to be held on 1 November

Chisinau, 21 May /MOLDPRES/- The presidential election will take place on 1 November. The head of state's proposal was approved in parliament today.
The decision was elaborated with reference to Article 78 of the Constitution and Article 109 of the Electoral Code.
The Moldovan President’s mandate expires on 23 December 2020.
Under the legislation, the parliament has the power to determine by decision the date of elections for the position of president at least 60 days before the election day. The decision shall enter into force on 15 August 2020.
