Three thousand jobs to be created at Digital Park of Moldova

Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/ - Three thousand jobs will be created within the Digital Park Project. The jobs are part of the programme’s investment plans, tackled at a working discussion between Economics and Infrastructure Minister Sergiu Railean and the leadership of the StarNet group of companies – the project’s principal investor.     

According to the director general of Digital Park, Aurelia Salicov, the project’s implementation takes place in more stages. Presently, the A block is ready, where IT companies with over 1,000 employees work. Business infrastructure with another 25,000 square metres is planned to be developed for the second phase of the project. The spaces are meant for offices, conference halls and other needed related spaces.  

„We have finished the first stage of the project’s implementation and, in continuation, we are set to reconstruct the industrial hall in working spaces and to build a block with 15 stories. The project’s final goal is to create conditions for accommodation for 3,000 jobs in the IT field and extend the business infrastructure by 25,000 square metres,’’ Aurelia Salicov said.  

For his part, the economics minister stressed the need to create and extend the business infrastructure necessary for developing promising business and creating well-paid jobs in Moldova, simulating technological startups and creating industries based on IT solutions.  

„In the age of digitalization, when the communication and quick connections are vital, Digital Park is a friendly space for developing business. And presently, when the pandemic crisis created considerable premises for re-thinking the instruments through which we re-launch the economy, projects like Digital Park are support platforms which can best of all meet the needs of development of companies in this industry. The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry is ready to make available the necessary framework for the successful advancement and extension of the project,’’ Sergiu Railean said.   

Digital Park is an investment project conceived to become a platform specialized in hosting experienced technological companies and startups. The initiative has got new development opportunities with the implementation of the legislation on IT parks in Moldova and is an attraction point for local and international companies.
