Ten localities from Ungheni, Nisporeni districts to benefit from rehabilitated roads

Chisinau, 12 June /MOLDPRES/- Ten localities from Ungheni and Nisporeni districts will benefit from rehabilitated roads and access to the national road infrastructure under the project on reconstruction of Pârlița-Bălănești-Seliște road (Corridor 13). The road has a total length of 40 km and is divided into four sectors.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI), three sectors of this road will be completed by late 2020 and the fourth - in 2021. " The rehabilitation works of Pârlița-Bălănești-Seliște road are carried out within the local road improvement project, for which the World Bank provided financial support worth 80 million dollars”, MEI said.

"Improving local roads is a priority for the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. I am glad to see a visible progress in the repair works of Corridor 13 which will ensure the access of over 15 thousand inhabitants from ten localities to the national road network ", Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Sergiu Railean said.

According to the official, the local road restoration will improve people's access to modern road infrastructure and facilitate entrepreneurship, thus creating opportunities for socio-economic development in rural areas.
