Moldovan president meets governor of Gagauzia

Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon had a working meeting today with Irina Vlah, Governor of Gagauzia, the presidential press service has reported.

The officials discussed issues on the socio-economic development of the region, and paid particular attention to epidemiological situation in the context of a new wave of COVID-19 contamination. Currently, the biggest outbreaks of infection are in Comrat and Ceadâr-Lunga districts.

According to Irina Vlah, additional support in providing medical staff and equipment is needed in the medical institutions from Gagauzia. However, the regional administration keeps the situation under control and the central authorities guarantee the necessary assistance in combating the epidemic.
