Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI) will revise the mechanism of subsidizing the creation of jobs.

According to MEI’s press service, as a result of an analysis of the implementation of the mechanism of subsidizing the creation of jobs, a string of deficiencies were identified. To remove them, the ministry proposed to exclude the age limit for men and women as subjects of the subsidy, diminishing the minimal threshold of jobs created from 100 to 50 people, extending the economic activities, including in the tourism sector, for which economic agents can benefit from subsidy at the creation of new jobs, in order to back the priority fields of the national economy.

The earlier mechanism saw the providing of two installments of a subsidy worth 40,000 lei for each job created for economic agents, which meet the eligibility criteria.

On the period of the years 2018-2019, nine economic agents applied to this mechanism, of which only one company managed to meet the eligibility criteria. As a result, 1,062 new jobs were created, for which a subsidy amounting to 42.48 million lei was calculated and the first installment of 21.24 million lei was paid.

„We want the entrepreneurs who extend their businesses and open new jobs to be able to benefit from the opportunities of this mechanism of subsidization. Therefore, we revised it and improved its eligibility conditions. We hope that it will become a stimulus for entrepreneurs and an efficient support on behalf of the state,’’ Economics and Infrastructure Minister Sergiu Railean said.
