Fines for desecrating graves increased

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/- Penalties for desecrating graves have been tightened. A bill to this effect was approved today by parliament.
The document sees that the desecration of graves will be fined up to 47,500 lei and unpaid work from 180 hours to 240 hours, or imprisonment for up to two years.
At the same time, the Contravention Code will regulate as a contravention the action of desecration of graves. The contravention sanction, according to the project, will be up to 1,800 lei.
The law will take effect after publication in the Official Journal.
