Most lyceums from Moldova to participate in Tekwill project till 2024

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - More than 90 per cent of the lyceums from all over Moldova must be members of the Tekwill in each school community till 2024. This is the main goal of the project, officially launched today. The project is set to develop abilities of children/pupils, so that they are better prepared for the professions of the future.    

In the long term, Tekwill in each school intends to become the main provider of courses adapted to the labour market’s requirements and has the mission to turn to good account Moldova’s human capital and educate a generation of people who are to create at home products and services which are to meet the national and global social and economic challenges.  

The creation of courses was possible through mobilizing the financial efforts of the private sector, the citizens of Moldova and the Diaspora (within the campaign of participatory financing of the TwentyTu project, started in 2018), as well as the foreign development partners – the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Moldova, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden. Also, the project enjoys the support of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC), through the Memorandum of Understanding.     

„Tekwill invests and backs as a priority the development and adaptation of education programmers to the expectations of the business environment, which wants to attract as many as possible qualified human resources in the sector. Moreover, through our programmes, we want to contribute to the enhancement of the digital culture and abilities, including regionally. Namely therefore, we have launched the Tekwill in each school project, which trains future employees for the professions of the future. Now, we want to grow and extend even more, in order to give more opportunities to the pupils from all over the country. Thus, we commit to turn 90 per cent of all lyceums from Moldova into members of the Tekwill in each school community till 2024, the director of the Tekwill project, Ana Chirita, said.

Two hundred laptops were donated to teachers who teach professions of the future within the project.

For the 2021-2022 academic year, the Tekwill in each school programme is to be extended and include new disciplines, as well as more education institutions. Thus, next year, 100 secondary general education institutions will be selected, which will be able to give pupils opportunity to study optional subject matters and to teachers – a comprehensive programme of continuous professional training, including the integration of innovative methodologies of teaching and learning in classroom. Also, in 2021-2022, new courses will be launched, among which: Artificial Intelligence, Designing and Development of Mobile Applications, Entrepreneurship. The applications for the programme have already started and the deadline for filling in the registration forms is 22 February 2021.
