Armenia' foreign affairs minister invited to pay visit to Moldova

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today had a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister of Armenia Ara Ayvazyan, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

The two officials exchanged opinions on the present stage and prospects for development of the Moldovan-Armenian relations. The sides reconfirmed both sides’ willingness to boost the dialogue on up-to-date subjects on the bilateral agenda.

A subject of the discussion regarded the interaction between the Chisinau and Yerevan foreign affairs ministries, including the organization of the next round of inter-ministerial consultations.  

In the context of the development in Nagorno-Karabakh, Minister Aureliu Ciocoi reiterated the position on the firm support by Moldova of the process of identifying a peaceful and lasting solution in the region, based on the principles and norms of the international law. In the context, the sides welcomed the agreements on the ceasing of the armed clashes in the region and voiced hope that they would contribute to ensuring the peace and stability.    

The Moldovan diplomacy head offered congratulations to his Armenian counterpart on his recent appointment to office. At the same time, he made an invitation to the Armenian minister to pay a visit to Chisinau and the invitation was accepted.
