State of public health emergency in Moldova today

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/- Moldova today entered a state of emergency in public health, established throughout the country on 30 November 2020 - 15 January 2021. The decision was taken late last week, in a new meeting of the National Public Health Commission ( CNESP). With the return to the state of emergency, more prevention measures and restrictions will stand in the country.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, CNESP decided to ban the activity of nightclubs (discos, karaoke, disco bars) from 28 November. At the same time, from 30 November restaurants, bars and cafes will operate until 22.00. The public catering units will be forbidden to operate between 22: 00-07: 00.

During the state of emergency in public health, it will be forbidden to organize and conduct scientific conferences, sports competitions, Olympics with the physical presence of people. Also, viewers will not allowed inside theaters, cinemas, concert halls or houses of culture.

At the same time, public and private institutions will establish a special work regime, being attracted to work only the staff strictly necessary to ensure the functionality of enterprises. For staff whose activity does not require compulsory attendance at work, distance work will have to be provided.

At the same time, the travel schedule of public transport, including the number of transport units will be adjusted as needed during peak hours. Drivers, tax collectors and passengers will be required to wear protective masks during the journey.

"We have reached a large number of daily cases and this development is worrying. Unfortunately, in the world, in the region and in our country, the spread of this epidemic continues. Therefore, we intend to come up with a set of restrictive measures, coordinated with specialists in the field, which will help stop the spread of the pandemic ", Prime Minister, CNESP head Ion Chicu said.

Late last week, a new anti-infection record was registered in the Republic of Moldova, on 28 November being confirmed 1712 cases of infection with the new coronavirus. On Sunday, 1165 cases of infection were announced, or in total so far 107,017 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country.
