Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu, at a today’s cabinet meeting, asked for information on Moldova’s supply with gas as of the 2021 year, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Economics and Infrastructure Minister Anatol Usatii said that a meeting of the board of observers of the MoldovaGaz stock company would be held on 17 December, during which the extension of the contract on gas delivery will be considered, without the changing of the conditions earlier agreed upon with Gazprom.

„According to the analysis at the moment, no increase in the gas prices or major deviations from the prices at the supply of natural gas is scheduled, against the present fourth quarter. Presently, we do not see these risks. The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, jointly with the MoldovaGaz stock company, permanently monitor this process,’’ Anatol Usatii said.

At the same time, the PM showed interested in the level of implementation of the projects on roads’ reconstruction, planned for this year. Thus, the Good Roads project was implemented at the level of 95 per cent. The government allocated about 1.4 billion lei for these works. At present, the process of payment of construction companies started. At the same time, the rest of 5 per cent of threw works planned are at the stage of verification and testing.

The PM said that more than 4.2 billion this year had been turned to account for the restoration of roads’ infrastructure. The budgets seen in the Good Roads programme and the Road Fund for 2020 amount to about 3 billion lei in all. At the same time, Moldova received foreign financing worth 1.2 billion lei for roads’ reconstruction. These means were received from various financial institutions, such as the European Investment Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development or European Commission.

„This year, we have already exceeded the disbursements made for roads’ infrastructure, against the year before. Although, in 2019 too, we registered a record in the use of financial means from external loans and grants provided to Moldova,’’ the economics minister added.
