Fruit producers from two banks of Dniester to jointly access new sales markets

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - Producers and exporters of fruits from both banks of Dniester will develop their capacities to access alternative markets with the assistance of Sweden and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) within the project, Development of export capacities on the banks of Dniester, (AdTrade). The members of the Moldova Fruct and Dnestrovskii Fruct associations will participate in activities of training and exchanging experience, development, marketing and will jointly promote Moldovan fruits.    

„The implementation of the same fruits production technologies will contribute to the sustainable enhancement of the Moldovan fruits’ competitiveness on target markets and the enforcement of quality and marketing standards will help extend and diversify the sales markets and gradually remove the dependence on one sales market,’’ the executive director of the Moldova Fruct Association, Iurie Fala, said.   

Fala stressed that the European Union’s market became ever more important for the export of fruits from Moldova and the facilitation of communication and establishing of relations with native exporters and trade operators from this market are foremost tasks of the associations. ‘’ The activities of promotion and marketing under the umbrella of the brand of Moldovan fruits represents the most efficient instrument to promote the country and the Moldovan fruits,’’ Iurie Fala Noted.

Within activities financed by Sweden within UNDP/AdTrade project, medium-term solutions will be proposed to overcome the problems created by Covid-19 for the extension and diversification of sales markets for the Moldovan fruits producers by the members of the partner associations. ‘’We are also set to consolidate the sustainability of the platform, Fruits from Dniester banks, made up of the Moldova Fruct and Dnestrovskii Fruct associations, as provider of professional services of representing the interests, of marketing and agro-business and promoting the export of fruits under the joint trademark, Moldova – a special taste, on EU markets,’’ a Moldova Fruct project manager, Lucia Batereanu, said.    

Within the project, four enterprises from the left bank of Dniester will benefit from the working out of virtual tours – an instruments which proved to be efficient for promoting fruits in conditions of pandemic.  

Some of the activities planned will be implemented online, combining them with the ones involving physical interactions between partners (but with maximal observance of the safety norms), taking into account the evolution of the pandemic triggered by COVID-19.
