Chisinau city hall launches civil budget program 2021

Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall launches the Civil Budget Program 2021, which provides for the initiation by citizens of projects of public interest and financed from the local budget, through Participatory Budgeting.

The Participatory Budgeting process aims to promote innovative ideas of citizens, with a beneficial impact on medium and long term for Chisinau residents.

The program value is three million lei, money allocated from the municipal budget for the implementation of projects of local interest.

The projects submitted by citizens will be classified into two categories: large projects worth 100 - 300 thousand lei and small projects amounting to 50 - 100 thousand lei. Subsequently, they are to be validated by the municipality, after which they are submitted to the voting process to be implemented.

The initiatives accepted for financing are related to the following sectors: Urban infrastructure (arrangement, rehabilitation of public spaces, such as pedestrian areas, squares, green spaces, etc.); Urban mobility (accessibility, road safety, etc.); Cultural and social infrastructure (architectural and cultural heritage, street-art, projects for disadvantaged blankets in Chisinau, tourism) etc.

If the project proposal can be framed in several areas, the applicant must choose the most relevant sector.

To submit the project initiative, the interested person will have to fill in a standard application form, which will be available on the official website of the Chisinau city hall, together with other information on way of participation and the composition of the file.
