Moldovan speaker convenes cabinet members to consider pandemic situation

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/- In the context of the alarming situation on spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and taking into account the registration of several types of coronavirus vaccine in the Republic of Moldova, Speaker Zinaida Greceanii convened today cabinet members headed by acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi in a working meeting on the issue, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

The speaker called for the urgent identification of the possibility of purchasing a batch of 1 million doses of vaccine for the vaccination of citizens.

Ciocoi said that the request will be examined urgently, and the public procurement procedure will be initiated for the procurement of vaccines from the sources of Compulsory Health Insurance Funds, as well as the government reserve fund.

Attending the event were Governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah and Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban.
