Moldovan National Extraordinary Public Health Commission warns pubs, restaurants not to ignore epidemiological measures

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - Employees of the territorial subdivisions of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) on 1-8 March carried out a string of actions of informing, assessment and control of the degree of observance of the measures of preventing the spread of the Sars-Cov-2 infection, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.      

Thus, the IGP employees verified the activity of 265 night clubs and following infringements found out, 247 contravention  reports were compiled on visitors from inside these pubs and restaurants. At the same time, two official reports were drawn up against managers of pubs and four official reports against employees of night clubs. And this although the work of the night clubs is restricted under the Decision No 45of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP) from 15 February 2021.   

According to the Article 76, paragraph 1 of the Contravention Code, private people who do not observe the measures of prophylaxis and combating the pandemic diseases, run the risk of being imposed with fines worth from 2,000 to 5,000 lei and the legal entities – from 10,000 to 35,000 lei.  

If the CNESP decisions are repeatedly infringed, visitors run the risk of getting fines up to 25,000 lei, while managers of pubs will be sanctioned with fines worth up to 75,000 lei.

The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission regrets the non-observance of epidemiological measures both by citizens and pubs’ managers and warns that the Commission will consider possibility to introduce more drastic measures as to the activity of restaurants and night clubs.  

In the context, CNESP urges citizens not to endanger their health and the persons around them and observe the epidemiological measures, avoiding agglomerated places as much as possible.
