More than 200,000 citizens infected with COVID-19 in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 5,341 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,896 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which 10 import ones. As many as 200,124 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 87 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 21, medical assistants –46 and auxiliary staff -20.

As many as 4,210 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 331 are in extremely serious condition (68 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 11,848 persons are treated at home with easy and moderate forms of coronavirus and 18,028 are under supervision at home.

Another 1,012 people have been treated. As many as 175,111 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 37 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,220 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed also a university lecturer from the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Ninety five medical employees have died because of the new-type coronavirus till present.
