Germany willing to support Moldova in stopping pandemic

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/- Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today met Ambassador of Germany to Moldova Angela Ganninger, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The sides approached many issues, including the fight against the SARS-Cov-2 virus, purchase of the vaccine and immunization of people, as well as boosting the Moldovan-German dialogue.

Ciocoi set out the current medical situation and the measures taken by the authorities to prevent and limit the spread of Covid-19. He stressed the need to provide our country with a vaccine and to expand vaccination of citizens.

The two officials also discussed efforts to strengthen the high-level political dialogue in recent times. They pointed out the need to fully restore Moldova-EU cooperation to carry out reforms and support democratic transformations.

Angela Ganninger reiterated Germany's willingness to provide the necessary support to Moldovan citizens to stop the pandemic, and recovering the sectors affected by the epidemiological crisis.

Ciocoi thanked Germany for the constant support to Moldovan citizens. He thanked especially for the humanitarian aid provided during the last year in the fight against the pandemic and for the generous contribution to the COVAX platform, through which the country benefits from a free vaccine.
