As many as 618 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 22 April /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 5,649 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 618 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which three import ones. As many as 248,009 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 10 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 1, medical assistants –6, auxiliary staff - 6.

As many as 2,452 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 242 are in extremely serious condition (46 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 3,879 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 15,929 are under supervision at home.

Another 850 people have been treated. As many as 235,054 people were treated ofCOVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 25 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 5,668 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed also a physician who had worked at the Family Physicians Centre from Balti. As many as 114 medical employees have died because of COVID-19 till present.
