Moldova, Belarus to boost efforts to turn to good account cooperation potential in diverse sectors

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and Belarus will boost efforts for turning to good account the cooperation potential in diverse sectors. This is the conclusion reached by Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, after a today’s meeting, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.   

Attending the meeting were Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Ion Perju and MP, head of the parliament’s commission for agriculture and good industry Radu Mudreac.

According to the Belarusian PM, the two countries are connected through a long-term partnership relation, open dialogue and mutual wish to edify a full cooperation in all spheres.

Roman Golovchenko drew attention to the fact that, in the modern conditions, it was important to identify and carry out new initiatives for the benefit of the peoples from the two countries.   

The prime minister highlighted the increase in the bilateral trade and showed interest in the fostering of this process. The Moldovan-Belarusian inter-governmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation has a very important role in this respect.  

According to the prime minister of Belarus, his country is interested in joint investment projects in the transport and road infrastructure sectors, agriculture and food industry – both at the inter-state level and directly between economic agents.     

Speaker Zinaida Greceanii confirmed the Moldovan side’s willingness to develop the cooperation with Belarus in various fields.

”Belarusian trolley buses move on the streets of our capital, Belarusian tractors work on our fields. Moldova’s citizens quite highly appreciate this and we want to continue the development of this efficient partnership,’’ the parliament speaker stressed.     

Also, Zinaida Greceanii spoke out for continuing joint projects in the humanitarian, social sectors, education and health fields.  

The turnover between Moldova and Belarus stood at almost 200 million dollars in 2020. An increase in the dynamic of the commercial ties has been recorded since early 2021.
