Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law amending the law on oil market were published today in the Official Journal. Thus, the National Agency for Energy Regulation, within one month, will work out and approve the methodology for calculating and applying fuel prices.

The new law aims to stop abuses in the field, by creating an economic environment based on market economy principles. The law was passed in the final reading on 9 April.

Under the new methodology, prices will be calculated taking into account existing fluctuations on international and regional stock exchanges (Platts). Prices will be calculated per liter, separately for each type of product and consignment imported. The proposed periodicity for recalculation is 14 days.

In recent months, the price of gasoline and diesel has significantly increased.
