Moldovan acting PM conveys message on occasion of civil servant's day

Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today conveyed a congratulatory message on the occasion of the civil servant’s day, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The message read:  

„Today, 23 June, I am particularly honoured to address the staff of civil servants on the occasion of the civil servant’s day, having an extra occasion to highlight the value, role and importance of this service in the achievement of the strategic goal of the country’s modernization and sustainable development.    

Moldova’s government continues to give priority to the development of a staff of professional, educated civil servants, including before the emerging challenges and crisis situations, against the background of overcoming the bad consequences of  Covid-19, neutral under political aspect and able to assimilate the European standards, in order to optimize the public administration for those whom we serve, the citizens of Moldova.   

Unfortunately, I find out, in certain circumstances, that the image of the civil servants is affected by certain stereotypes which have taken root in the society. At the same time, I notice that the solution to overcome these references consists in the permanent enhancement of both the quality and the degree of professional training of the civil servants. Obviously, the degree of Moldovan citizens’ satisfaction with the public services provided comes from here.

I want to hope that each civil servant takes into account this aspect in the daily activity and in the interaction with the people.   

This professional holiday represents a good occasion to remind our society the values which stay at the basis of the public service: transparency of the administrative act, integrity in exercising the public office, deep respect for the citizens and orientation to the solving of their problems, observance of the norms of professional ethics and deontology, as well as professionalism and innovation in exercising the office.

The success of the achievement of the goal of continuous modernization of the administrative system and the improvement of the quality of public services is based on speeding up the digitalization process, applying innovations and the most important thing – the inter-institutional cooperation.  While fulfilling the tasks of each of you efficiently and in team, you decisively contribute to the improvement of the living standards of our citizens, as well as to the prosperity of Moldova.   

In the context of the professional day, I offer sincere thanks to the colleagues from the government, ministries, agencies, public institutions, local public authorities and civil servants from all over Moldova for dedication, professionalism, patience, moderation, patriotism and loyalty proved to the country in fulfilling the noble task.
